Public Dental Program

The public dental program is a government funded service providing emergency and general dental and denture services. Waiting lists can apply when there is high demand. Reception staff will ask about your needs and assess your requirements either as an emergency, general check-up or treatment.

Medicare - Child Dental Benefits Scheme

If your child is eligible for the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme, please call us to arrange a check-up. Treatment up to $1,000 over two years is bulk billed to Medicare with no out-of-pocket cost to you.

The following priority groups do not wait on a waiting list:

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders
  • Children and young people
  • Homeless people and people at risk of homelessness
  • Pregnant women
  • Refugees or asylum seekers
  • Registered clients of mental health and disability services, supported by a letter of recommendation from their case manager or staff of special developmental schools

Fee exemptions apply to:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Homeless people and people at risk of homelessness
  • Refugees and asylum seekers
  • Children and young people aged 0-17 years who are health care card or pensioner concession card holders or dependents of concession card holders

Keeping Kids Smiling

Our Keeping Kids Smiling program was developed in response to the National Oral Health Plan for 2004—2013 which describes the urgent need for improving community based dental services for children in Australia. We educate and encourage good oral hygiene for young people through our schools’ dental van visits.

For early learning centres or schools interested in finding out more information about this program, please contact Manar Maroky on 1300 552 509 or send an email to linkhc@linkhc.org.au
