Social inequality means there are people in our community who are more likely to experience poor health and early death. Health promotion aims to address the underlying causes of social inequality to improve health.
Link Health and Community partners with other organisations and our local community in health promotion initiatives to:
- Develop people’s ability to improve their own health
- Support policy and action that creates supportive environments for health
Our current health promotion priorities include:
- Social inclusion
- Gender equity and the prevention of violence against women
- Prevention of alcohol related harm
Link Health and Community work with a range of community partners including schools, sporting clubs, local and state government to improve the health of children, young people and their families.
